What ages do you treat?

We treat children and adolescents aged 5-18. If a client turns 18 while in treatment, we continue care until they complete the program and assist with transitioning to adult services as needed.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept most insurance plans, including AHCCCS, Mercycare, BCBS of Arizona,

Aetna, and United Healthcare/Optum.

If you’re unsure about coverage, we can verify your benefits and inform you of any out-of-pocket costs.

What is the difference between IOP and PHP?

IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program): Participants attend 3-hour group sessions 3-5 days a week, with individual and family therapy and medication management as needed.

PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program): A more intensive program where clients attend 5-hour sessions 5 days a week. This is designed for adolescents who need higher support before transitioning to IOP.

How do I get started with Canyon Health Centers?

What happens during the assessment?

The assessment is a thorough review of your child’s mental health history, current concerns, and family dynamics. It typically lasts about 90 minutes and helps determine the best treatment plan.

Do you offer telehealth services?

Yes, telehealth is available for individual and family therapy, case management, and medication management. However, PHP requires in-person attendance due to the level of care provided.

Are parents involved in the treatment process?

Absolutely. Family involvement is a key component of our treatment approach. Parents and guardians participate in therapy sessions and receive updates on progress.

How do you ensure your facility is a safe space?

We foster an inclusive, trauma-informed environment where every child feels valued and supported. This includes specialized care for LGBTQ+ youth and training for staff to address diverse needs.

What should I do if I have an emergency?

If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, please call 911 or contact the National Crisis Hotline at 988.

What should my child bring to group sessions?

Your child can bring a healthy snack and a water bottle. Phones and personal belongings will be stored securely during the session.

What is your policy on safety and confidentiality?

Safety and confidentiality are our top priorities. All group members sign confidentiality agreements, and staff adhere to HIPAA guidelines to protect client information.
